The "Next-Gen" consoles are now out everywhere, they have both seen a rocky start with the PS4's blue light of death and the Xbox One's disk grinding. Nevertheless they are out and people are buying them. If you haven't bought one yet or if you have one and wish to argue consoles this post is for you.
Alright so for specs everything is the same ALMOST, the Xbox One and the PS4 have basically the same CPU with Microsofts Xbox One having a clock speed of 1.75 GHz compared to the PS4's 1.60 GHz. On to the graphics processing unit, the Xbox One has an entry-level GPU while the PS4 has a mid range. The PS4 wins on the shaders side toting +300 more than the Xbox Ones BUT the Xbox has a bit of a higher clock rate. This higher clock rate is done for the Kinect though as it will be sectioned off for some of the GPU's power.
Xbox One runs two operating systems which can cause booting even from sleep mode to take quite awhile. PS4 is almost instant even from cold boot (completely off). PS4 also installs games quicker. HOWEVER the Xbox One launches games noticeably quicker as well as loading in general once booted.
The RAM is a bit different and more difficult for me to explain, the PS4 has 8 gigs of DDR5, while the Xbox One has 8GB DDR3 PLUS 32MB eSRAM embedded memory. This really means that the PS4 has faster RAM that can move large data quicker than the Xbox with DDR3 which is good at moving smaller amounts of data... BUT the eSRAM will take the blow as being faster than that BUT remember that it is only 32MB.
Contrary to popular belief though, the Xbox One's graphics are ALMOST similar to the PS4's graphics though in side by side comparison they are almost the same in many ways. Mostly vibrancy is what the PS4 hands in with graphics, if you studied them hard enough.
Both consoles share a distinct relationship though and this is that they are built like an actual computer. The CPU's used in them are actually custom versions of laptop processors. Not really (if any) parts were used that couldn't be found in a mid range computer (Possibly upper mid range) or laptop.
So here you go, this is my news update on the Consoles. If you have already gotten one, you should let me know how you like it.
